 NORTH PHILADELPHIA. Residents in parts of the city can now officially get rewarded for recycling under a program city officials kicked off Thursday at Progress Plaza.


The Recycling Rewards Program allows residents to earn points they can use towards discounts at national and local retailers, such as Fresh Grocer, Rite Aid, Ruby Tuesday’s and more.


The program kicks off in North Philly — including the Art Museum area, Fairmount and Brewerytown and parts of Northern Liberties, Fishtown and Port Richmond — is expected to be available citywide by July.
