It’s the ultimate one-stop shopping. Pick up your produce and buy a house at the same time.  Last week, real estate chain RE/MAX of New England announced a partnership with Natick-based Stop & Shop to open micro real estate offices in supermarkets located in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut. It makes searching for a new home as easy as buying milk.

“RE/MAX is one of the most recognized real estate brands around the world and we continue to seek opportunities that allow consumers to shop their way,” said Jay Hummer, executive vice president of RE/MAX of New England in a press release.

RE/MAX is slated to open 17 mini-offices over the next year in Stop & Shop supermarkets in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

“The true upside of these RE/MAX franchises is that a broker will have a smaller and more economical office, at a lower initial investment, and the consumer will have the one-stop shopping experience they are looking for,” said Hummer.

The franchises will be “turnkey operations,” that are guaranteed to attract house hunters because they are located in high-traffic areas, Hummer said.

Each branch will have a uniform look in an attempt to create strong brand recognition.
