Thousands are expected to attend the funeral for Yadira Arroyo, the FDNY EMT who was run over after her ambulance was hijacked last week, in the Bronx on Saturday. The 14-year department veteran — and mother of five — died March 16 after suspect Jose Gonzalez stole the ambulance as Arroyo, 44, and another EMT were heading to a call. Arroyo’s funeral will take place at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Roman Catholic Church in University Heights. The service will be live streamed.
There goes your 'ducking' commute! NYPD rescues one lucky duck
If you were cursing a train delay on Friday morning, you could have been shouting "duck!" No, that wasn't autocorrect. We said "duck." A duck waddled onto the tracks of the Jefferson Street L train stop in Bushwick, ruffling a few feathers, Patch reported.
Time-lapse video captures Winter Storm Stella hitting NYC
Time-lapse footage covered on Reuters' Times-Square camera capture the late season snowstorm as it hit New York City late Monday (March 13) night and into Tuesday (March 14). Snow plows from the city's department of sanitation worked continuously to keep streets clear. The blizzard swept through the heavily populated northeastern United States on Tuesday, grounding flights, canceling classes and pummeling those who ventured out onto snow-bound streets. The National Weather Service sharply...
Cold snap encases New York house entirely in ice
John Kucko's "ice house" may look like a result of clever editing, but he swears it's all Mother Nature. "30 seconds of absolutely frigid Lake Ontario shoreline. Some parts look apocalyptic up there. The violent wind we've had the last five days has taken a toll," Kucko wrote on Facebook after posting the video. After initially posting photos to Facebook, Kucko used the video to prove the house is truly coated in 7 inches of ice. Some people thought he had used spray foam to fake the images.

Trevor Noah sings country tribute to Trump's 'forgotten man'
Trevor Noah may be from South Africa, but "The Daily Show" host Thursday night showed he knows how to belt out a good old fashion American country song. Noah, after looking at President Trump's recent approval ratings, realized that he is not trying to be popular among all Americans, just the group he ran to represent — the "forgotten man." So, using his best Johnny Cash impression, Noah sang a tribute song that celebrates everything Trump has already accomplished from them...or didn't. Watch...
WATCH: This dog is literally you midweek
It’s Wednesday. You’re hungry. You’re tired. There’s still half a week to go at work. It’s. Just. SO. Much. Even Harley, a nearly 2-year-old golden retriever is like, “Whatever.” He just wants to eat his carrot chunks with as little effort as possible, without even getting up. He attempts a half-hearted rollover, but like the caption says on his Instagram, “When food is your life but you’re lazy AF.” Same, Harley, same. Now move over and give us some of those carrots because we can't even...

Michael Jackson's famed Neverland Ranch in California is back on the market at a much reduced price of $67 million and with no mention of the late pop star in the real estate listing. The sprawling 2,700-acre estate, which once featured a zoo and theme park rides and where Jackson was accused of molesting a boy, is being touted for suitability for wine-making, keeping horses and a "lifestyle of relaxation and entertaining on a grand scale."

As if monster gator and orange gator sightings weren't enough recently, another of the reptile encounters is making news. A family reportedly spotted an alligator carrying its lunch across a Florida golf course on Thursday. The creature interrupted their round of golf as it was strutting along the green with a large fish in its mouth before heading into a pond, according to the Bradenton Herald. “That’s amazing. I’ve never seen that before,” witness Norma Respess said. “What a sight.”
