10 same-sex couples to marry on float during Toronto’s Pride parade

TORONTO – Organizers of Toronto’s annual Pride parade plan to celebrate five years of legalized same-sex weddings in Canada by marrying 10 couples on moving floats during this year’s event.

Five of the couples who plan to marry are from the United States, where for the most part same-sex marriage is still illegal.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Toronto’s Pride parade.

The festival is a week later this year, and will not conflict with the G20 summit.

The parade will be held July 4. (680 News)
