14 vehicles in Cole Harbour, Timberlea broken into Monday

Two teams of thieves struck 14 vehicles in Cole Harbour and Timberlea overnight on Monday.

Seven vehicles in each community were broken into.

Cpl. Joe Taplin, a RCMP spokesman, said they don’t believe it’s the same thieves in both locations.

The stolen items were mostly in plain view, he said. The list includes: Mac passes, sunglasses, stereo faceplates and a Tim Hortons gift card.

Lundy Drive, Brian Drive and Hirandale Cresent were targeted in Cole Harbour and Oakvale Court, Rosewood Avenue and Yoon Court were hit in Timberlea.

Taplin said they didn’t receive any calls about suspicious behaviour in those areas on Monday night. He said it’s very important to contact police if you notice someone casing out cars or otherwise behaving suspiciously. He added it’s also important to keep valuables out of sight.
