2 hurt in swarming attack

A swarming attack less than a block from Joyce Street SkyTrain Station early yesterday morning has left two young men in hospital.

The two injured men, age 19 and 20, both suffered cuts and bruises as they attempted to escape their attackers.

Both victims were part of a group of six that was hanging out in the area, explained Vancouver police Insp. John Grywinski.

Around 1 a.m., a throng of about 15 people surrounded and violently attacked the smaller group in the 3200 block of Clive Avenue.

The perpetrators are described as similar in age to the victims.

No arrests have been made yet in the case, but Grywinski said the incident appears to be isolated.
