Considering their long-standing feud, it’s only fitting that Jimmy Kimmel cracked a few jokes at Matt Damon’s expense while hosting the 2018 Oscars on Sunday night.
But the “Good Will Hunting” actor wasn’t the only Boston star who took a jab from the late-night host, as Kimmel also poked fun at Mark Wahlberg during his monologue to open the 90th Academy Awards ceremony. After talking about last year’s flub with the Best Picture announcement and Hollywood’s #MeToo and #TimesUp movements—which included taking aim at Harvey Weinstein—Kimmel joked about the pay discrepancy between Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams for reshoots on “All the Money in the World.”
“Mark and Michelle are represented by the same agency,” Kimmel said during his monologue. “I have to admit, this sort of really surprised me. This one shook me because if we can’t trust agents, who can we trust?”
“To his credit, Mark Wahlberg announced he would be donating all $1.5 million to the #TimesUp legal defense fund,” Kimmel added. “So I now guess the ball’s in your court, Michelle. What are you going to do with that 80 bucks?”

While it didn’t seem like Damon was in attendence during this year’s ceremony, Kimmel found the time to crack a few jokes directed at his frenemy at a few points in the night. After showing a montage clip that included Damon, Kimmel apologized for having the actor included in the video package.
“On behalf of the Academy, I want to apologize to our great U.S. military, the men and women here and overseas, for Matt Damon in that montage,” Kimmel joked. “You deserve better than that.”

Kimmel also ended the show with his traditional swipe at Damon, saying that the ceremony ran out of time before the actor could get some air time.
“Apologies to Matt Damon,” Kimmel said. “We ran out of time for him.”
