An unlicensed driver speeding through a red light struck and killed a Brooklyn teenager on a bicycle yesterday, police said.
Jake McDonaugh, 18, of Windsor Terrace, was hit at the intersection of Beverly Road and Flatbush Avenue at 9:30 a.m. Driver Michael Oxley, 28, was charged with criminally negligent homicide.
Another unidentified cyclist was struck just after midnight yesterday and critically injured on Linden Boulevard. No criminality was apparent, police said.
A third cyclist was taken to the hospital after being hit on Lexington Avenue near 24th St. “We need safer streets for cyclists,” said Wiley Norvell of bike advocacy group Transportation Alternatives.
