3 injured in Bronx subway slashing

Three people were injured and three were arrested after an argument over a subway seat in the Bronx on Saturday escalated into a slashing attack, police said.

The incident began with a verbal dispute between two groups of people just before 7 p.m. on a northbound 5 train nearnear the 149th Street – Grand Concoursesubway station.

An unidentified weapon was produced at some point during the altercation and a 26-year-old woman was slashed in the back, a 19-year-old man was slashed in the face and neck, and a 27-year-old woman was stabbed in the face.

All three of the victims were transported to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.

Carla Larmarche, 23, and Walliris Velez, 27, were both arrested and charged with assault in the attack. Paul Obregon, 27, was charged with menacing, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, andthree counts of assault.
