A quiet northeast community was shaken at the news of three newborn babies and a woman found dead in a Taradale home earlier this week.
While police remain tightlipped about ages and genders, autopsy results concluded the deaths of the babies are suspicious, while the death of Harsimrat Kahlon, 27, is not considered suspicious, according to Duty Insp. Rob Williams.
“Further testing is being done to determine a cause of death. This kind of testing can take weeks or even months,” he said, but added police are confident it is an isolated incident.
Neighbours in the 200 block of Taracove Estates Drive NE said they saw police at the home where the bodies were found on Sunday.
“They were a quiet, young couple. The last time I saw the woman a few weeks ago she was pregnant. I never really talked to them. (I) saw them in the morning and nighttime but they didn’t talk much,” neighbour Omar Friaz said.
Other neighbours said the couple was very quiet, but Kristian and Brooke Diaz said the couple seemed to have family or friends over often.
“They always said hi to us but that’s about it. They were really nice, giving out candy on Halloween. There were always cars over on their driveway and street,” Kristian said.
Other neighbours were shaken up over the news of the deaths, including Hung Tran.
“I don’t even want to hear about it. I have kids. It’s very terrible, very sad,” he said.
