Tom Kehoe’s beer is smokin’. The president of Yards Brewing Company is in the midst of coming up with new and interesting beers for the summer and Philly Beer Week 2010, and one of Kehoe’s favorite events, Smoke ’Em if Yous Got ’Em, features smoked beer and a BBQ competition. Steamy! We asked this pro for some Beer Week drinking tips.
1. “Try new beers that are made just for the summer and Beer Week — they are rare and go with the summer feeling. There are also some beers that are collaborative with more than one brewery, so there’s a good chance that these beers won’t be around again next season.”
2. “Drink what kind of beer you like, and don’t try to drink all of them at once. Experiment, but figure out what kind of beer you are partial to and try those kinds.”
3. “Remember your environment, and drink to that. If it’s hot outside, try to stay away from heavier beers. The Yards summer brew, Saison, is refreshing, fruity and light — perfect for summer.”
