Chowda Day

Who doesn’t love a hot bowl of New England-style clam chowder? In honor of National Soup Month, Legal Sea Foods is celebrating the beloved local comfort food by declaring Tuesday a “Legal” holiday, appropriately dubbed Chowda Day. Every Legal location will be offering $1 cups of their New England clam chowder with purchase of an entree. Jan. 15, various locations, $1 with purchase of an entree, legalseafoods.com

Trash Night

Head to the Brattle Theatre on Tuesday for Trash Night, a monthly underground comedy and film event. The festivities feature a screening of an “F-grade,” just terrible movie that organizers thrust upon its unsuspecting audience members. The folks behind Trash Night also run strange original videos throughout the showing and encourage guests to participate in the fun. Irish Whiskey Dinner

Solas kicks off its whiskey Wednesday series with a special dinner this week. Stop by to enjoy a cocktail half hour featuring Kilbeggan Single Grain followed by a three-course dinner crafted by Solas sous chef and former “Chopped” contestant Alex Galvis. The menu includes Irish soda bread crostinis, coffee rubbed racks of lamb, cinnamon apple tarts, plus an end-of-the-night toast of Connemara Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey.
