5 more reasons to check out Boston’s Seaport

Equinox

It’s no secret that the Seaport District is quickly becoming Boston’s hottest neighborhood. While the area already has a ton of great restaurants and bars to go along with its collection of luxury apartments, expect even more popular attractions to pop up in the coming months. If you’re considering a move or just want to stop by the neighborhood for a day, here are five new additions you should check out in the Seaport.

1. Equinox

Fitness fanatics will get the chance to break a sweat while taking in an amazing, 270-degree view of the harbor thanks to the debut of Equinox Seaport this week. Located on Northern Avenue, the new, state-of-the-art gym has everything you need for an intense workout, including group fitness classes, Pilates, cycling and more. Guests can also relax at Equinox’s luxurious spa, as well as grab a healthy snack or drink at its Juice Press shop.

2.  ShowPlace ICON

The Seaport will get its own luxury movie theater when ShowPlace ICON opens its first New England location this winter. Guests will be able to recline in heated seats, which feature over six-feet of legroom, plus munch on an upscale lounge menu or classic movie concessions. The theater will set up shop at One Seaport below the new VIA Seaport residences.

3.  Kings Seaport

A new bowling alley will also open its doors at One Seaport when Kings debuts its latest location on Oct. 30. Fans should expect more than just pins and lanes, though, as Kings Seaport is taking things up a notch to cater to a more adult crowd. The new location will feature a “barcade” with games like foosball, air hockey and more arcade classics, plus a modern gastropub concept dubbed the Draft Room.

4. Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar

The popular Back Bay tequila bar recently opened its second – and larger – location in Fort Point. Lolita’s new spot on Summer Street is twice the size of the original, boasting 210 seats and a sunken bar featuring stained-glass panels. Guests can feast on an expanded menu of street foods, tacos and other snacks while sipping on some of Boston’s best margaritas.

5. The Grand and Scorpion Bar

Get ready to party all night long when the Grand nightclub and Scorpion Bar debut on Seaport Boulevard later this month. Featuring more than 12,000 square feet of space, the Grand includes a kinetic light system and a 70-foot LED wall that will wrap around a dance floor. DJ Hardwell will help kick things off on Oct. 25, followed by performances by R3HAB on Oct. 27 and Steve Aoki on Oct. 29. Located in the same building, the Scorpion Bar will also offer plenty of beats for nightlife lovers, along with a Mexican cantina-inspired menu of food and drinks.
