The office of the president of the United States now has an official twitter account and President Obama is the inaugural president to use it.
“Hello, Twitter! It’s Barack. Really! Six years in, they’re finally giving me my own account,” Obama tweeted.
The account quickly amassed a following of more than a million.
Shortly after debuting the new @POTUS account, the president was tweeted at by former president Bill Clinton:
Good question, @billclinton. The handle comes with the house. Know anyone interested in @FLOTUS?
