8 TV series premieres you can’t miss in 2016

1.X-Files” Considered one of the great series of the 1990s, “The X-Files” is back after 13 years. This new season will continue with investigations into cases about aliens and paranormal activities, but current issues, such as problems in the government and surveillance videos are also included. Oh, and its famous protagonists remain the same: Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). Premiere: January 24

2. “The Walking Dead”The series started their sixth season in late 2015 and continues with more episodes in February to show how Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his friends are going to solve the problem of the menacing horde of zombies who entered Alexandria. Then, they’ll have to deal with other communities of survivors. One of the leaders of these groups that will challenge Rick will be Gregory (Xander Berkeley), described as cowardly and populist. Premiere: February 14

3. “Daredevil.”The second season is eagerly awaited by fans after the excellent first season — which also avenged those traumatized by the 2003 film. With a new pair of writers, the series will show Hell’s Kitchen’s guard, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) going through even more emotions to form a love triangle. In addition, the heroes Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist will also be presented in these episodes. Premiere: March 18.

4. “House of Cards.”The fourth season is on track to be more controversial and darkly comical than ever. The plot sees Underwood trying to stay in the office of POTUS at any cost. The coincidence is that this will also be the year of the real US elections in 2016. Premiere: March 4th

5. ‘Game of Thrones’HBO reaches its sixth season with many unknowns to be resolved, including the supposed death of Jon Snow (Kit Harington). This new season should also reveal more about its origin and give answers about mysteries involving other characters, such as Stannis (Stephen Dillane), Arya (Maisie Williams) and the faceless man. Premiere: April 24

6. “American Crime Story.” Derived from “American Horror Story”, the series dramatizes a real crime story per season. The first will narrate the trial of former football player OJ Simpson (Cuba Gooding Jr.) after being accused of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, in 1994. The series will show the process viewed by the lawyers Robert Shapiro (John Travolta) and Robert Kardashian (David Schwimmer). Premiere: February 2.

7. “Vinyl” Set in 1970s New York, the new series focuses on the birth of punk, the disco era and hip-hop in the midst of a universe full of drugs and sex. The story is told from the point of view of Richie Finestra (Bobby Cannavale), who is the president of a record company that is trying to escape from bankruptcy during this revolution in the music industry. The drama is signed by Martin Scorsese, Terence Winter and Mick Jagger, and already has high expectations from fans and critics. Premiere: February 14.

8. “Fuller House” The spin-off of the Full House series is set 21 years after the original series and focuses on the two “Tanner” sisters and best friend “Kimmy Gibbler”. They all live under the same roof. First season available starting February 26.
