A new online registry allows the world to share and view firsthand testimonials of attacks on the World Trade Center.
The 9/11 Memorial Registries, unveiled Wednesday, create a historical record of the Sept. 11 attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
Participants can share firsthand testimonials as survivors, witnesses or recovery and rescue workers. The database also welcomes submissions and pictures of the 9/11 memorials from around the world.
In addition to the online database, visitors will be able to experience the registries at the 9/11 Memorial Museum, which opens May 21.
“The 9/11 Memorial Registries are an innovative way for survivors and rescue and recovery workers to share their powerful stories with people around the world,” 9/11 Memorial President Joe Daniels said in a statement.
There are three registries: the Rescue and Recovery Workers Registry, the Witnesses and Survivors Registry and the Memorials Registry.
