For a mere $300,000 you could own a piece of Olympic history by helping transform a team of lugers into winners.
With only a year until the 2010 Games, Canada’s national luge team hopes to attract a title sponsor by wearing “For Sale” signs on their helmets in their final two World Cup competitions this season.
“We are not looking for millions and/or freebies,” said Tim Farstad, executive director of the Canadian Luge Association.
“(We) would like to establish a close relationship with a company that can help give us the final nudge onto the podium.”
The national luge team, he added, is one of the only winter sports without a title sponsor.
The final two World Cup competitions will be held at Calgary and Whistler.
