What’s the premise?
It’s time to get down and dirty to determine which type of vehicle — motor-cross bike, ATV, monster truck or ORV (off-road vehicle) — rules in a bunch of wild and varied events.

MX Vs. ATV: Unleashed.
Is it suitable for younger gamers?
Things can get a little rough amidst a pack of riders, but nothing so bad you wouldn’t let the wee ones play.
One player or more?
There’s a fun two-player split-screen mode and you can take the competition online for some 12-player action.
The (not-so) secret to success is…?
The idea behind this game is to see which vehicle rules the road (or dirt trail or mud field or whatever), but the truth is that you’ll find yourself trying them all and using them in different situations. Try not to fall in love with just one type of machine too early.
What’s missing?
Some of the events become a little monotonous after a while and while we’d all likely complain if the courses were any shorter it does get a little tiresome sometimes by the fourth lap.
And in the end?
MX Vs. ATV: Untamed is very nice to look at, fun to play and sure to please fans looking for a little muddy racing action or trick jumping fun.

What’s the premise?
Get behind the wheel of some of the most legendary cars in racing history as you use your Wii-mote to steer your way past 32 rivals in search of a checkered flag.
This game is most similar to…?
It controls similar to Excite Truck, but since there’s been a dearth of great racing games for the Wii, I guess it stands alone.
Is it suitable for younger gamers?
My four-and-a-half year old son had quite a good time trying it out, but it would be very difficult for little kids to compete and win races.
One player or more?
Two-player split-screen mode is nice, but personally, the top/bottom split drives me nuts.
The (not-so) secret to success is…?
Watch out for crashed cars. Nothing disrupts a nice fluid race like slamming into a flaming wreck.
What’s missing?
Perhaps we’re spoiled by the times we live in, but it seems strange to not be able to upgrade and customize your cars.
And in the end?
Those who love this historic race will no doubt love this game, while those who are looking for a truly exceptional Wii racing game will have to keep waiting.
