Abbotsford police launch videos promoting ‘crime-free lifestyle’

Abbotsford police have posted to YouTube videos that show the very harsh reality of gang life.

The idea is to reach out to youngsters and get at-risk youth to adopt their “choose a crime-free lifestyle” slogan, police said in a release.

They’re calling the campaign, which includes four videos, Operation Veritas (truth).

Each features scenarios following the format of the MasterCard “priceless” ads.

They show two options, a “senseless” life of crime and a “priceless” life without crime. They contrast things like watching TV comfortably at home, versus staring at the wall in jail.

The videos will also be shown in public buildings in the City of Abbotsford and in high schools.
