AbitibiBowater negotiating for $100M loan from Quebec

Insolvent fores­try company AbitibiBowater Inc. continues to negotiate with the Quebec government and a Canadian financial institution for up to $100 million in emergency financing, a Quebec court was told yesterday.

The debtor-in-possession loan would rank above other obligations of the Montreal-based company, which has been operating under the protection of Canadian and American courts since last week.
