Albert Haynesworth pleads no contest

Albert Haynesworth today pleaded no contest to misdemeanor simple assault in D.C. Superior Court, resolving accusations he fondled a waitress at a Washington hotel.

All charges against the Patriots defensive lineman will be dropped if he stays out of trouble for the next 18 months and completes 160 hours of community service, according to online reports.

Then a member of the Washington Redskins, Haynesworth allegedly touched a waitress’ breast at the W Hotel in February. The 30-year-old originally faced a charge of sexual abuse in the case; that was dropped today as part of a plea agreement.

The Patriots acquired the talented lineman last month in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.
