All clear given after Harvard Business School prompts evacuation

Police evacuated several buildings at Harvard Business School’s campus Tuesday morning following a bomb threat, university officials said, but the campus was giving the all-clear hours later.

Harvard tweeted an alert at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday, saying “Alert: Police are evacuating multiple buildings on @HarvardHBS campus due to a received bomb threat. More info to follow.”

Campus officials said the following buildings were evacuated: Morgan, Esteves, Aldrich, Chao, Tata, Hawes and Batten.

Officials gave the all-clear at 2 p.m., after the buildings were inspected.

“The investigation into the bomb threat is active and ongoing,” University police spokesman Steven Catalano said in an email to students. Earlier, students were alerted that buildings were inspected, and as “each is cleared we will send an alert by text so that occupants can return.”

Police did not release any information on a possible motive or suspect.
