The man wanted for allegedly slashing a 71-year-old woman’s face earlier this week has been apprehended by police after his grandmother turned him in, ABC New York reported.

This is all thanks to surveillance footage released by the NYPD which showed the suspect, 21-year-old Damon Knowles, fleeing in a red outfit and black jacket.

The grandmother, who saw the footage, called the police on Knowles. When detectives arrived to question him, she kicked Knowles out of her Brooklyn home. He was charged with criminal trespass and resisting arrest, and was taken into custody, ABC New York reported.

Knowles also faces charges of assault with intent to cause disfigurement and assault with intent to cause serious physical injury.
If you think there’s been a rash of face slashings, you’re not wrong. ABC New York reported that there have been 11 face slashings in the city since the start of the new year.
