The future is here and it means never having to leave the house.
Amazon, the world’s leading purveyor of just about everything, will not rest until we are living in some sort of bed-ridden (yet awesome) dystopia. Sure, it seemed to go south for Wall-E but surely that won’t happen to us. We can already buy anything we want from their website, listen to and watch anything we want on their tablets and streaming devices and read anything we want on their Kindles. What’s next? Using futuristic gadgets to food shop, obviously.
The company just unveiled a nifty looking gadget called Dash, which makes food shopping easier, and less personal, than ever before. All you do is scan the barcode of something you want and it’ll get shipped to your door on the very same day you order it. If you don’t have any barcodes laying around, you can also use that weird thing called your voice to make the order. Even cooler? The Dash is free, for now. After all, you’ll be using it to spend heaps of more money
The gadget and the affiliated AmazonFresh grocery ordering service is currently available only in California and Washington State, although rumors persist that New York is next on the docket.
