AMC announces return dates for ‘Mad Men,’ ‘The Killing’

The long wait is over.

“Mad Men” Season 5 will debut with a two-hour premiere on March 25 at 9 p.m., AMC announced at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif., on Saturday. The beloved period drama has been off the air for over a year as creator Matthew Weiner and the network hashed out contract negotiations.

For fans needing a refresher after the long hiatus, “Mad Men” Season 4 will be available On Demand beginning Jan. 23.

Other announcements made by AMC include the premiere of “The Killing” Season 2 on April 1 at 8 p.m. The network also made a promise to fans angered that the first season’s central mystery — who murdered Rosie Larsen — wasn’t resolved by confirming that her killer will be revealed in the Season 2 finale. The first season of that murder mystery will be available On Demand beginning March 5.

“The Walking Dead” Season 2 returns on Feb. 12 at 9 p.m., followed by the series premiere of “Comic Book Men,” a reality series documenting the day-to-day at Kevin Smith’s comic book store, Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash in Red Bank, N.J., at 10 p.m.
