Several sources reported that Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London home on Saturday. The singer, whose battle with substance abuse was well-documented, perhaps best by her own song, “Rehab,” was 27 years old.
She had been working at staging a comeback, but recent concert performances had been lackluster, with the singer frequently appearing too intoxicated to complete the songs that she had written, and which earned her five Grammys in 2008.
Police have not yet confirmed a cause of death.
Although the last images we have seen of Winehouse have been sad shadows of her potential, we choose to remember her today in top-form, with this performance that was broadcast at the Grammys in 2008.
