It’s sort of a slow news Friday, so here is another picture of an actor in a superhero costume!
This time we’ve got the first look at Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises,” and, though we don’t want to jump to conclusions, we have to say we are slightly disappointed!
We weren’t as down on the casting as some of our colleagues were; Hathaway can be as charming an actress as anyone and we trust that Christopher Nolan can get her into an appropriate dark place. (Who thought Heath Ledger was scary before “The Dark Knight”?) But seeing her riding on a gigantic motorcycle, wearing some sort of weird night-vision visor thing just looks unconvincing. Maybe because she’s doing it in broad daylight?
How gigantic is that front tire? And how red is that lipstick?
Also, she looks nothing like a cat.
