Another gold for Bluesfest

As Bluesfest 2010 wrapped yesterday, its executive director Mark Monahan pronounced himself tired but satisfied.

“Tonight I’m going to see two of my favourite bands, Jimmy Cliff and Weezer, then I’m gonna go to bed, and hopefully have the best sleep I’ve had in a couple of weeks,” he said.

While final attendance figures were not available yesterday, Monahan estimated attendance was up 10 per cent over last year, with crowds of more than 40,000 for Santana, The Flaming Lips and Great Big Sea.
