Another Super Bowl, another defeat

Talk about a letdown.

Last night was supposed to be Brady’s revenge. It was supposed to be a healing moment for Patriots fans still wounded after that Super Bowl four years ago.

Instead, it was 2008 all over again.

Patriots fans had such high hopes going into last night’s game. The Patriots were favored to win over the Giants.

Fans showed up to bars across the city wearing hats and jerseys, excited for the potential of redemption.

The streets around North Station and Kenmore Square were deserted during the game. Fans inside were glued to the televisions with the Patriots holding on to a slim lead at halftime.

But then the Giants came back.

Fans sat at bars with their head in their hands staring blankly at the TV as the lead was erased.

“What the f—, Brady” was shouted multiple times from upset fans inside the Galway House in Jamaica Plain.

After last night’s loss, fans in Pats Nation will have to tell themselves something to get through the day.

“It’s just sports,” said Raj Ganga, while walking through Kenmore Square last night.

“Go Bruins,” said Mark McLaughlin, who watched the game at the Galway House.
