At Logan, TSA finds two with ammo in luggage

Two people were stopped at Logan Airport during the weekend in separate incidents for allegedly having ammunition in their luggage.

According to police reports, officers responded to the first incident at the JetBlue security checkpoint where a TSA screener saw a pistol magazine while X-raying the luggage of a 55-year-old male passenger from Connecticut.

The passenger told police that he forgot about the ammunition in his bags, and cooperated with officers.

The man was licensed and had no criminal record, according to police.

A summons was issued for unlawful possession of ammunition and the passenger was allowed to board his flight after a thorough screening, according to police.

The second incident took place at the Southwest security checkpoint, when a passenger allegedly had a shotgun shell in his baggage.

According to police the shell was empty and devoid of shot and was confiscated. No charges were filed.
