Retro video game fans rejoice! The Atari VCS preorder page is now live and fans have the chance to get in on all the Atari action before it ships.
Atari has announced that it is allowing people to preorder the Atari VCS retro-styled gaming system inspired the 1980s classic gaming system, the Atari 2600.
With the Atari VCS (Video Computer System), users will get to have a classic Atari gaming experience with modern features such as 4K resolution HDR, streaming capabilities, multi-player online play and a Linux operating system which will allow gamers to play more than 100 classic Atari 2600 games Classic hits such as Centipede, Missile Command, Gravitar and Asteroids are just some of the titles available for the Atari VCS. The machine will also include built-in Wi-Fi Bluetooth 5 capabilities and a USB 3 port.
The Atari VCS preorder announcement has people just as excited as the Nintendo Classic Edition release in 2016.

On Wednesday, Atari tweeted the details and link to the Atari VCS preorder page so fans can make sure they can purchase the highly anticipated game system.
According to Atari, you can get in on the Atari VCS preorder action by backing it on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo.

According to the Atari VCS preorder page on Indiegogo, the company has more than 6,000 backers and have already raised close to $2 million for the Atari VCS system.

For a limited time, The Atari VCS Collector’s Edition will feature a wood finish the and come with one Atari Classic Joystick for $299 USD plus shipping. According to Atari, the special deal will expire on June 11, 2018.
The Atari VCS Onyx is all black and has a starting price of $199 without any game controllers.
If you’re interested in purchasing a classic joystick, it will cost you $29. If modern gaming is more your style, Atari also offers a modern video game controller for $49.

When does the Atari VCS come out? According to Atari, the official release date for the Atari VCS has not been announced, however, according to its page on Indiegogo, the company plans to ship the Atari VCS by Spring 2019. So, if you’re a diehard Atari fan, you’ll have to wait a year before it ships or hits the stores.
