Items once belonging to Red Sox favorite Johnny Pesky will be auctioned off during an event at Fenway Park later this month.

Pesky, who was in his 90s when he died in 2012, remained a part of the Red Sox long after his eight year career in Boston. During his retirement he took in many games from the dugout and was a presence when the Red Sox announced plans to commemorate Fenway Park’s 100-year anniversary.

Among the items to be auctioned off are his Rolex wristwatch, which was presented to him in 2008 when the Red Sox retired his number. The bid for that was nearly $9,000 on Wednesday afternoon.

One of the items expected to earn the highest bid is Pesky’s 2004 World Series ring, which was up to $34,000 on Wednesday. It was anticipated to earn as much as $100,000.

Hunt Auctions is hosting the auction that will take place April 12 at Fenway Park. Pre-bidding is taking place online, but the items will be live-auctioned next week.

Hunt Auctions said each item will include a letter of provenance from the Pesky family.
