Graffiti writers in the city have been increasingly quick to tag over Banksy’s often quippy, cute works throughout the five boroughs, but they may hesitate before attacking his latest piece.

Banksy launched a citywide “show” in New York for the month of October, titled “Better Out Than In.”

Pieces have appeared in various neighborhoods, from Chinatown to East New York to Woodside.

This latest piece, posted on his website, is in “Tribecca.” It’s a small silhouette of the Twin Towers and the skyline that used to frame them, with an orange flower placed where the first plane hit on Sept. 11, 2001.

The edges of the flower appear burnt from the black paint used for the towers, suggesting this piece may have been crafted around the flower, as Banksy’s work often plays off a pre-existing element.
