These beards never say die.

The beards of Red Sox players David Ortiz and Shane Victorino that were shavedduring a charity event earlier this month are now up for sale on eBay.

The trimmings, along with the razors used during the charity event shave, have been assembled into a “beard ball trophy.” All of the proceeded from the auction go to Gillette’s fundraising effort for Movember, a men’s health charity focused on prostate and testicular cancer.

“We’ve never done anything like this,” Hooman Shahidi, senior brand manager for Gillette, said in a statement. “But their facial hair has been the symbol of the team since spring training and became part of baseball lore. We hope the shavings help raise awareness for important men’s health issues and find good homes with passionate fans.”

The bidding is currently live. Both trimmings from Victorino and Ortiz start at a price of $102.50. Bidding ends Nov. 30.

“I’m glad that the beard that helped me throughout the series can now help raise funds for a great organization like Movember,” Ortiz said in a statement.

The description on the auction page said that the hair has been “treated and sterilized,” so you should probably forget about your hopes of cloning Victorino or Ortiz.

No word on whether the trimmings from Boston Police Officer Steve Horgan were saved, but wherever they are, we like to think they’re horganing.
