BOOKS

Pamela Love Book Signing
April 14, 6-8 p.m.
Rizzoli Bookstore, 1133 Broadway
Free

New Yorker Pamela Love blends a love of science and nature (think arrowheads and feathers) with all things shiny and girly (like moonstones and sapphire) in her eponymous jewelry line. Now the artist is releasing her first book, “Muses and Manifestations,” which pairs photos of her iconic pieces with stories about the inspirations behind them, from botany to folk art. She’ll be appearing tonight at Rizzoli Bookstore for a free book signing with cocktails, tarot card readings and fortune tellers.

COMEDY

“I Know What I’m Doing and Other Lies”
April 15, 8 p.m.
The Bell House,149 Seventh St., Brooklyn
$20-$25

Following the debut of her Netflix Original “I’m Gonna Die Alone (And I Feel Fine)” and her book, “I Can Barely Take Care of Myself,” “Chelsea Lately” regular Jen Kirkman is visiting The Bell House with a night of new comedy. “I Know What I’m Doing and Other Lies” blends stand-up with anecdotes from her actual life. Also in the mix is a reading from her book, followed by a signing and Q&A.

FILM

$11.54

Something is not right when Will (Logan Marshall-Greene) shows up uninvited to a dinner party being thrown by his ex-wife (Tammy Blanchard) and her new husband (Michiel Huisman) in “The Invitation.” Videology is screening the tension-packed movie over four nights, and we have to imagine that it will help to have a bartender and some friends nearby as the dread mounts and the adrenaline begins to kick in.

GREEN LIVING

$12

PARTY

Beyonce vs. Rihanna Tribute Party
April 16, 11:59 p.m.
Brooklyn Bowl, 61 Wythe Ave., Brooklyn
$15

It’s time to throw down on the dance floor to settle an important controversy: Who’s your bae, Beyonce or Rihanna? Fans of both should show up prepared to hash it out as DJs play the top tracks from each artist (and, as they emphasize, there will be no remixes or mash-ups in rotation). But as much as it’s a dance battle, it’s also a tribute party, so prepare to celebrate the contributions of both deserving divas.

PARTY

Dancing On My Own ‘80s-‘00s Prom Party
April 16, 10 p.m.
Littlefield, 622 Degraw St.
$5-$8

What’s that saying about how kids are too young to appreciate what they have? It certainly rings true for prom, because we would love a do-over that lets us merge the confidence we have now and the stupidity we had back then. You can relive your own best mistakes this Saturday when Littlefield hosts Dancing On My Own, a do-over prom celebrating the pains we survived from the ‘80s to ‘00s. There will be a photo booth and music by DJ Steve Reynolds. Prom attire is encouraged, with prizes for creativity.
