Biker sets example with 60th donation

It may take guts to ride a motorcycle, but it takes blood to keep you alive if you fall off one.

Mike LaRocque, general manager of Cycle Motorsports knows that all too well. One of his fellow riders is currently at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital so LaRocque felt the need to donate, but it’s not his first time.

LaRocque is issuing a challenge to bikers and motorsport enthusiasts to step forward and give blood in August. LaRocque kicked off the challenge by donating for the 60th time.

“It’s become a life habit,” LaRocque said prior to his donation.

“I want to make sure that other dealers and other riders are aware of the need for blood.”

LaRocque’s goal is to get 60 donations from the motorcycle community to donate blood in August.

“If we can get that done it would be a great accomplishment,” he said.
