Exploitation of foreign caregivers can no longer be tolerated in Ontario, says a Liberal MPP who yesterday tabled a bill that would regulate nanny recruitment agencies.
“The exploitation of vulnerable foreign workers by unscrupulous recruiters cries out for government intervention,” said Mike Colle before introducing his private member’s bill in the legislature.
The bill calls for the licensing and registration of all foreign-worker and caregiver recruitment agencies and prohibits the collecting of placement fees from foreign workers.
