Bruce Di Labio has been bird watching since he was 13 years old. Now, 40 years later, he finds it just as exciting now as he did when he was a teenager.
On Sunday, he will join about 100 other people in the Ottawa area who will be participating in the annual bird count from dawn until dusk.
“We count by the sight and sound of the birds and we try to be as accurate as possible, said Di Labio.
The biggest challenge, he said, is the weather.
“Weather can put a damper on the count and some birds will hide.”
