What went wrong for the Giants…
1 No need for B-West — Brian Westbrook missed the game with an injury, but Philly didn’t miss him. Leonard Weaver, the 250-pound fullback, set the tone early, rumbling for a 41-yard touchdown on the opening drive.
2 Eli’s turnovers — Eli Manning finished with a 55.7 passer rating and threw two picks. Asante Samuel had a pick on Manning’s third play from scrimmage to set up a Brent Celek touchdown.
3 Can’t close — DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin each caught a TD pass in the final 1:38 of the first half to go up 30-7.
What went right …
1 Cutting the lead — The Giants finally awakened near the end of the first half when Manning found Kevin Boss on an 18-yard score. Manning went 3-for-3 on the 89-yard drive.
2 Running hard — At least Brandon Jacobs didn’t “tiptoe” much, rushing for a game-high 86 yards. Jacobs also accounted for 22 receiving yards.
3 Red zone — The Giants went 2-for-3 inside the red zone. It’s little satisfaction, though, as Big Blue has now dropped three straight by a combined score of 112-61. They host San Diego next Sunday.
