Friday was a very bad day for several New York City commuters, with two men dead of bloody apparent suicides and an older man left fighting for his life after a homeless man pushed him onto the tracks.

The first incident occurred around 11 a.m.when a southbound 4 train struck a man as it pulled into the elevated Mount Eden subway station in the Bronx. The fire department confirmed that the man was dead on arrival.

Police said it appeared to be a suicide and awitness posted atweetsaying the man had jumped, adding that the victim’s upper body had fallen down to the street below.

Less than three hours later, at around 1:40 p.m., a second man was reportedly decapitated when he threw himself in front of a 6 train at the 33rd Street station. He was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Finally, around 4:30 p.m., a 72-year-old man was pushed onto the A train tracks at Harlem’s 145th Street station. Witnesses rescued the man before the train arrived, but he reportedly suffered a fractured skull and collarbone in the fall. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he is in a coma.

A 57-year-old homeless man was identified by Lin’s wife as the man who pushed him. He was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted murder and assault, police said.
