CVS is offering a free health screening and now is the perfect time to take advantage of this free CVS deal since the weather is starting to change and fall is right around the corner.
The CVS Project Health Campaign is part of an effort to help patients identify health concerns and get information about their health. According to CVS, the annual Project Health campaign has delivered more than $122 million worth of free health services since the program was launched in 2006.
“Project Health is part of CVS Health’s commitment to improving access to quality care by identifying health concerns and risk factors for participants who may not have otherwise sought preventative care,” said Dr. Troyen A. Brennan, Chief Medical Officer of CVS Health in a statement.
What’s included in the CVS free health screening?
According to CVS, the free biometric health screening includes several important health tests including body mass index (BMI) blood pressure, glucose and a total cholesterol check.
“Chronic conditions, which can often be life-threatening, can be treated very effectively when identified early at screenings such as Project Health, and can help to improve a patient’s health and well-being,” Dr. Brennan said.
After the health screenings are complete, patients will have the opportunity to speak with nurses on-site to discuss the results from the health screenings and receive referrals for additional treatment at a nearby medical facility. According to CVS, the additional medical care is little to no cost.
Do I need an appointment for the free health screening at CVS?
No appointment is required for the free health screening. Patients looking to receive a free health screening just need to show up at a participating CVS location.
The free health check at CVS is available Thursdays through Sundays until December 16.
