Books from Iran to Toronto filled with heroin: U.S. Customs

WILMINGTON, Ohio – U.S. authorities say they have found 7.75
kilograms of heroin hidden inside hollowed-out books bound for Toronto
that were shipped to southwestern Ohio from Iran.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say the heroin, with an
estimated value of some $1 million, was in four shipments of two books
each bound for Toronto.

Customs spokesman Brett Sturgeon said Friday customs inspectors
based at the DHL hub in Wilmington found the drugs in the last week
after running packages from Iran through an X-ray machine.

They opened them to find they had books without pages, filled with bags of heroin.

Sturgeon said no arrests have been made in the case.
