Officials are continuing their search for a Plymouth man wanted in connection to the fatal stabbing of a 76-year-old professor at Quincy Junior College.
Authorities have alleged that Tyler Hagmaier, 24, stabbed his neighbor Vibeke Rasmussen in her Plymouth apartment last Thursday before disappearing, triggering a large police search to locate him, WHDH reported.
“He has significant mental health issues as well as a significant criminal history of violence. I consider him to be a highly dangerous person,” District Attorney Timothy Cruz described Hagmaier to Fox25.
In Gill, Massachusetts, Hagmaier’s car was found parked near a bridge over the Connecticut River, where State Police have conducted a search of the water but were unable to recover a body, WHDH added.
Police were uncertain if Hagmaier had committed suicide, but he has made previous attempts to kill himself, Fox25 reported. Nearby witnesses said they heard a splash in the water by the bridge on Friday night.
Police have not recovered a murder weapon, WHDH stated, adding that officials have not said if any evidence was found in the suspect’s car.
