Authorities are still searching for two inmates who escaped from a minimum-security prison in Lawrence on Wednesday afternoon.
Manuel Perez, 22, and Leni Montalvo, 23, both of Puerto Rico and classified as nonviolent offenders, walked away from Lawrence Correctional Alternative Center,
Perez is incarcerated on a charge of motor vehicle theft. Montalvo is in jail for violating a no-contact order.

“While they are not classified as violent offenders, the public is urged not to approach them if spotted as they may be dangerous,” Essex County Sheriff Frank G. Cousins Jr. said in a news release.
Perez has several tattoos on his left and right hands and forearms including the Puerto Rican flag on his right hand.Montalvo has tattoos of skulls on his abdomen, back, and left arm. Both inmates have family connections in Lawrence.
