A quick all-clear after suspicious package at Roxbury Crossing T stop

Police breifly stopped traffic to investigatea suspicious package outside the Roxbury Crossing T stop Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the package, an unattended backpack left outside the Orange Line stop, around 8:23 a.m. and gave the all-clear by 9 a.m., police spokesman Stephen McNulty told Metro.

Bomb squad investigators determined the bag did not pose a threat, Mcnulty said.

McNulty called blocking the road at Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue “precautionary.”

Police did not have to detonate the package, as they did when a suspicious piece of luggage was left near a Homeland Security SUV Dec. 4.

In September, police arrested a man wearing a Guy Fawkes maskwho allegedly making bomb threats at Back Bay station, which is also on the Orange Line.
