UPDATE: As of about 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, the mother wanted for kidnapping was detained in Yarmouth. The children are safe. The Amber Alert has been recinded.

Police in Abington are looking for a mother suspected of kidnapping her two children.

Police say the woman is driving a blue 2007 Nissan Quest minivan with a Mass. plate 985TM9.

The van was last seen at around 1:45 p.m. on Thursday on Main Street in West Yarmouth. The mother, Bruna Gomes, knocked on the door of the victim’s apartment, claiming to be the Abington Police. When the man opened the door, police say Gomes blasted him in the face with pepper spray, pushed her way into the apartment and grabbed her two children.

Abington Police are concerned for the well being of Nathalia Portela Coehlo, 7, who has brown hair, brown eyes and is about 4’5”. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt with purple shorts. Her brother, Nathan Portela Coelho, 8, also has brown hair and brown eyes. He is about 4’8” and had blue shorts and a blue T-shirt on.

Gomes is said to have ties to Everett, Stoughton, Cape Cod and Weymouth.

Gomes, 33, is about 5’6″, weighs 150-160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
