EMTs deliverer a baby on the side of Soldier’s Field Road in Brighton early Sunday afternoon.
Bystanders flagged down paramedics Trevor O’Shea and Erick Hackett, who had assumed there had been a car accident.
“This was the last thing we were expecting,” said O’Shea.

The baby -- a boy -- was born in his mother’s car. The paramedics cleared his airway, cut and clamped the umbilical chord and tended to the mother on the scene. The mother and son were taken to Mt. Auburn Hospital, where they are both said to be doing well.
"It was very exciting to be part of a new life entering the world, and I was glad to play a small role,” said Hackett. “To be fair, mom did most of the work.
