The man's body was found near a park bench and authorities described him as a Walpole resident in his late 70s or early 80s. Police do not expect to release his identity until the state medical examiner determines cause of death.
A passerby discovered the man aroudn 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, and a state police official said it was unclear how long the body had been there, the Boston Herald reported.
