On the surface, it appears as though the Patriots have chosen one cornerback over the other.
FOX Sports’ Mike Garafolo reported at the 4 p.m. Tuesday start of free agency that the Patriots are allowing cornerback Brandon Browner to test free agency.
Garafolo tweeted: “Patriots have not informed CB Brandon Browner they will exercise his option, therefore he’s a free agent, source says.”
It is now assumed that the Patriots will use that extra money to throw at fellow corner Darrelle Revis.
