Burlington detectives busted seven alleged johns and one alleged prostitute in a sting last Friday.
Police posted ads on a web site known for hosting classified ads that offer sex for a fee.
While the intention of the operation was to arrest customers, in the course of monitoring the advertisement, police noticed a different ad offering sex for money in a Burlington hotel.
All told, seven men tried to purchase sex from an undercover female officer and were consequently arrested. Detectives also contacted the woman who had advertised on the site, made an appointment and then arrested her after they reached an agreement to pay for sex.
The eight suspects were charged with sexual conduct for a fee. They are expected to be arraigned in Woburn District Cout on Monday.
